Londonderry’s Ryan Griffin made a strong impression in his 13 starts with the New York Jets last year, and the team wants him back wearing green next season after exercising his 2021 option.

After being cut by the Houston Texans, the Jets signed the tight end to a three-year extension last November worth up to $10.8 million with $4 million guaranteed. He responded by posting arguably the best season of his seven-year long career, hauling in 34 receptions for 320 yards and five touchdowns.

Griffin, 29, clearly established a red-zone connection with young Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, and the two will now get another season to develop it.
