Londonderry’s Woo Kickboxing took part late last month in The Good Fight promotion, a submission only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament series. On June 22, The Good Fight held the Boston Open at Danvers Indoor Sports in Danvers.
Brazilian Top Team had four competitors from Woo Kickboxing and one from BTT Boston. Together, they finished second as a team.
“It’s always a good time at the Good Fight Tournaments,” said Amber Famisan, who contributed 52 points across four divisions. “All my teammates came out and fought hard for 16 medals combined and a second place team trophy!”
Added teammate Ed Tapia, who took home two gold medals himself: “Everyone did great! Thank you to our BTT Boston Brother Ike for competing and contributing 38 points! Alyssa Marini was savage like always, competing in four divisions! Ben Simon, popping a rib in just to get us our points. Amber Famisan was just promoted to Blue Belt Thursday and she’s already earning medals. Christopher Merheb continues to impress and had some of the most intense matches. It was a heroic day.”
Alyssa Marini won two gold and two silver medals, Famisan won a silver and a bronze, Benjamin Simon and Christopher Merheb won two silvers and Tapia and Ike Iffih won a pair of golds.
