Londonderry’s Woo Kickboxig has had a fantastic summer of competition that continued at the recent Grappling Industries event in New Hampshire.
Grappling Industries is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament series that follows a Round Robin Pool format. There were 81 teams competing at the event, and Londonderry’s Team Woo BTT and BTT Boston combined score brought Brazilian Top Team to third place over all.
“I was blessed to have an awesome day at this awesome event,” said Team Woo member Jefferson Zelaya. “I love this tournament, awesome people and so much support from my friends and family.”
Zelaya not only performed well, but also coached his lesser experienced teammates and kept them motivated throughout the tournament. The most exciting match of the day was Ben Petropoulos’ come from behind victory. Petropoulos was losing by 6 points with only 20 seconds left in the match, but took his opponents back and submitted with a rear-naked choked.
Woo Kickboxing Academy of Londonderry’s Team Woo BTT is an official Brazilian Top Team affiliate and many of their athletes cross train at BTT Boston, which is Brazilian Top Team’s New England headquarters.
