Astro beat archrival Lancers
It always feels good for Pinkerton when it can knock off rival Londonderry, and that’s exactly what the girls basketball team did Friday night with a 59-44 win. Brooke Kane (23 points) and Madison Mahoney (16 points) fueled the offense yet again for the Astros. Junior guard Colleen Furlong led Londonderry (5-7) with 15 points and Courtney Shay finished with 11.
Livvey living large
Livvey Kendzulak scored a season-high 10 points to help Windham beat Dover, 53-45, last Wednesday. The Jaguars (10-4, 8-3 NH) were led by Sarah Dempsey, who poured in 20 points with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Emphatic first win
Pinkerton boys basketball picked an opportune time to earn its first win of the season last Tuesday. The Astros took down a Nashua North team that had previously only had one loss, 58-46. Brady Day had 18 points to lead Pinkerton, and Jay Reynolds chipped in 14.
First varsity win
Casey Phelan had a second period pin for his first varsity win to highlight Pinkerton’s 43-6 win over Alvirne last Wednesday.
Three for Tunik
Alex Tunik finished with a hat trick and Tommy Langlois added a pair of goals as Windham beat Division 2 Goffstown, 6-3 on Saturday.
27 for Kane
Brooke Kane pumped in 27 points and Pinkerton outscored Nashua North 23-8 in the third quarter in a 64-45 victory for the Astros last Monday.
