BEDFORD — You could definitely say that Londonderry’s James Buttafuoco was in the right place at the right time.

As time expired, the senior grabbed teammate Ethan May’s missed 3-point attempt and banked in the game-winning layup to lead the Lancers over Bedford 49-47 Friday night.

Better yet, it was Buttafuoco’s first bucket of the night.

“We do a lot of rebounding drills and talk about being disciplined,” said Londodnerry coach Nate Stanton. “We emphasize the help. I thought tonight they did a good job. We were doing a good job reading it off the rim, and they did a good job crashing the boards.”

May ended up with a game-high 13 points for Londonderry.

The Lancers improved to 5-2 while Bedford dropped to 4-3.
