It’s been quite the run for the Londonderry softball team.
On Friday, Ila Brown had more hits and runs than she allowed to Bedford in a 10-0 win. Brown tossed a no-hitter and clubbed a pair of home runs to help the Lancers extend their winning streak to 11 games and move to 12-1 overall.
Brown, who struck out 11, came within one batter of a perfect game as she issued a walk with two outs in the seventh inning. She backed her own effort out of the circle with the two long balls, which were part of a three-hit, three-RBI night. Emily Nelson had two hits and two RBIs while Cassidy Raza, Alivia Proulx and Michaela Doyle each had one RBI to go along with two hits.
Then on Monday, the Lancers made it 12 in a row with a 9-1 victory over Alvirne. At 13-1, the Lancers were one game ahead of Winnacunnet for first place after Monday’s action.
