All-State Boys Soccer: Pinkerton’s Rust earns first team nod

It was a special senior season for Pinkerton’s Alex Rust.

The forward scored a team-high 10 goals to help the Astros (13-5) advance to the Division 1 North quarterfinals, where they were defeated at Concord in double overtime. For his efforts, Rust was named to the 11-person NH Division 1 All-State first team. He was the only local athlete to make first team.

Teammates Jon Tremblay and Max Fairbank made second team.

Portsmouth: Nicholas Dalesio, striker

Londonderry: Nick Weinmann, defense
