The Level 8 gymnasts from Gym-Ken Gymnastics had a successful first competition of the fall season at the Halloween Day Meet at Tri-Star Gymnastics in Dover. The girls took home the first place trophy for Level 8 at the meet. Although there had been some illness going around and several injuries, the girls rallied to pull off a victory in the team competition.
"The girls did very well for their first time out," said Gym-Ken head coach Ruth Licata. "I know it will only get better from here. They are all growing up so fast and it is such a pleasure to be with these girls. They make us proud."
Kadianne Tommasi, of Salem, took 5th place on the vault for her age group with a score of 8.025. She took second on bars with a score of 7.65. Kadianne won first place on the balance beam with her 9.1 and 3rd on the floor routine with a score of 8.425. She won the first place award for her age group with a total score of 33.20.
Sarah Vignos, of Windham, won 4th place on the vault for her age group with a score of 8.2. She took third on bars with a 7.3, third on beam with an 8.2, and second on floor with an 8.65. Sarah placed third in her age group in the all-around with a score of 32.3.
Amanda Cioli, of Derry, took home the first place award in her age group for her vault with a score of 8.575. She also took fourth on bars with a 6.650, a fourth on beam with a 7.150, and a first place on floor with a score of 9.175. Amanda won fourth place in the all-around competition with a total score of 31.550.
Sarah Hale, of Salem, won fifth place for her age group on vault with a score of 8.550. She also took sixth on bars with a 7.950, second on beam with an 8.550, and third on floor with an 8.650. Sarah came in fourth in the all-around competition with her total score of 33.7.
Amanda Forti, of Windham, won first place for her age group on the vault with a score of 9.225. She also won 8th place on bars with a 7.55, fourth on beam with an 8.450, and third on floor with an 8.650. Amanda won fourth place in the all-around for her age group with a total score of 33.325.
Gym-Ken Gymnastics competitive girls team is coached by Head Coach Ruth Licata, assistant coaches Jen Corsetto and Kara Lemay. Gym-Ken is a full-service gymnastics facility located in Windham, NH, owned and operated by Paul Shea.
