Scholarships available

High school seniors have less than a week left to apply for 13 scholarship awards available from the Windham Endowment for Community Advancement. The eligibility requirements vary by scholarship and encompass students pursuing one-, two-, or four-year degrees, certificates, or vocational training. The majority of the scholarships are available to all high school seniors who reside in Windham, regardless of school attended — just five of the scholarships are limited to Windham High students — and the offerings range from $500 to $2,500 per award.

The scholarships appeal to students with a range of personal experiences and interests.

“This year, we are excited by the addition of a new $2,000 scholarship available to a graduate pursuing a career in firefighting, EMS, fire science, or forestry,” said Diane Carpenter, president.

Carpenter added, “Also, for the first time, we hope to award a $2,500 scholarship to a student who plans to pursue a career in certain technical trades.”

The deadline to submit completed applications is Tuesday, March 23. Applications and details of each scholarship are available at windhamendowment.org.

The Windham Endowment has awarded $69,500 in scholarships since 2012 to graduating high school students from Windham. If you would like to discuss establishing a scholarship fund, please contact Diane Carpenter at 603-437-0686.
