Halloween is fast approaching and local communities are urging families to play it safe while still having fun.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, trick-or-treat hours are being upheld, but with extra safety precautions in mind to make sure all are safe this Halloween.
Derry Parks and Recreation hosted a safe Trunk or Treat event this past Sunday, giving children and families an opportunity to enjoy a safe daytime Halloween activity.
Local towns urge everyone wanting to enjoy Halloween night to trick-or-treat safely on Halloween. That includes maintaining safe distances, wearing masks, carrying hand sanitizer, and remaining within family units and small groups within specific neighborhoods. Trick-or-treaters should not enter homes and people should not hand candy to children.
Hours for trick-or-treating on Oct. 31:
Derry: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Londonderry: 6 to 8 p.m.
Windham: 5 to 8 p.m.
Those who do not want to participate should turn off their lights.
