Frosty fun

A local ice cream business had just the message for ice cream fans hoping to enjoy frosty treats on warm spring afternoons. A sign at Moo's Ice Cream on Crystal Avenue in Derry sported the message: "The best balanced diet is to have an ice cream in each hand."

Watching it grow

Progress continues on the Londonderry Central Fire Station's expansion/renovation project. People driving by regularly on Mammoth Road have been watching the station work continue on the past several months, seeing the newest space take shape to help the fire department grow.

Free concerts continue

The annual free summer Concerts on the Common series continues on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., presented by the Londonderry Arts Council along with the support of many sponsors. Visit the Arts Council londonderryartscouncil.org for a complete list of musicians taking the Common stage this summer, or email to stephenl.nh@gmail.com.

The best yet

Londonderry Town Manager Kevin Smith gave an update on the town's Nutfield 300th anniversary committee progress, saying things were going well and the summer's Old Home Day in August will be a big way to honor the 300th birthday of the area's original settlement. Smith said this year will be a good one.

"It's going to be the best Old Home Day we've had in 300 years," Smith said.
