It's never too early to enjoy some early season snow. In Londonderry, some families were taking advantage of the few inches that fell earlier this month.
On the big hill behind the Mack's Apples farm stand on Mammoth Road, people were enjoying some afternoon sledding recently when temperatures were in the mid-40s.
Drive-up holiday cheer
It's been a year of drive-by birthdays and parties to help keep communities safe and sound during the pandemic.
One local school offers a different take on a popular annual holiday tradition, offering a Polar Express and Pajama Day event to coincide with a week of holiday spirit and fun themes. Families are invited to come by the school on Dec. 17, 3 to 4 p.m. to safely pick up hot chocolate to enjoy.
Windham Girls Scouts are hoping to help many in the community stay warm this season. The Scouts in Troop 10182 are collecting mittens, gloves, scarves and hats to support those in need this year. Collection boxes are located at the town's Recreation Department, with support going to help the town's Helping Hands group in continuing missions to help others.
Budget planning underway
School districts and towns are already working on their budgets with public input welcome during upcoming hearings. Londonderry School District hosts a public hearing on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2022 on Dec. 17, 7 p.m. at the Londonderry High School cafeteria.
