At the Democratic party's headquarters at 2 Litchfield Road in Londonderry, a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme greets visitors to the entrance of the building. And at the door, a podium is ready for anyone, "politicians and poets" who may want to state a case or recite a verse.
Brewing up business
As 603 Brewery prepares to open at its new space at Woodmont Commons, the brewery is keeping everyone up to date on the building's progress on social media. Recent Facebook posts from 603 showed off a brand new patio area where customers will be able to enjoy the brewery's craft beers and food.
Memorial Day mascots
As area communities honored Memorial Day May 27, many local marching bands took to the streets to play patriotic tunes for the crowds. Gilbert H. Hood Middle School's marching band took part in Derry's annual parade and this year, the band was joined by the school's Husky mascot, marching along with the students instrumentalists.
When presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders came to Mack's Apples in Londonderry to speak recently, he got more than questions from the audience about his specific issues he is focusing on. Sanders also got some wedding anniversary wishes from the crowd as it was his 31st anniversary that day.
A local church had a stern message hoping to keep people safe on the road. An exterior sign at Londonderry United Methodist Church read: Want to meet God? Text and drive.
