Hair's to a great message

And just in time for the upcoming Valentine's Day celebration, one local salon in Derry has just the message to help bring people in the door for some holiday care before the big day of love.

Water's Edge Salon boasted its exterior sign with the message: Love is in the hair.

Feeling the Bern

For those coming out to the Derry Opera House recently to support presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, it was a rally to hear all sorts of things about how he wants to change government and make America work for all people.

Touting his famed slogan "us not me" in front of a packed Opera House, Sanders joked that the phrase could do wonders on the back of a vehicle.

"It's a good bumper sticker slogan," he said.

Presidential parking

While Bernie Sanders was inside the Derry Opera House recently speaking to a crowd, one area supporter also took up some space outside the building to show support for the president.

A truck emblazoned with Trump stickers, signs, decals and other festive decor was parked right alongside the Opera House on West Broadway to give the current president some kudos for what he does.

Dinner supports Rotary charities

The Derry Village Rotary Club hosts its annual pasta dinner on Friday, Feb. 14, at the Marion L. Pounder cafe in the Academy Building at Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Doors open at 4 p.m. with bingo played from 4 to 5 p.m. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. The dinner is free to the public but any donations received will go to support local charities/non-profits.
