Pups on the job
Several area businesses often have friendly pups on the premises to greet customers. In Londonderry, one local doctor's office welcomed customers with a perky pooch, coming in to spend the day on a special bed set up in the corner. It's also a normal summer scene to see dogs enjoying an open window while cruising around the area in an owner's car.
Fun Runs continue
There's still plenty of time for young runners to lace up the sneakers and take to the track. The Greater Derry Track Club's weekly Fun Runs continue on Monday nights at the Londonderry High School track. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and races for toddlers up through adults are at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to support local food missions.
The YMCA of Greater Londonderry wants everyone to enjoy a summer carnival. A fundraising family carnival is set for Thursday, July 18, 6 to 8 p.m. at the YMCA, 206 Rockingham Road in Londonderry. It's also a celebration of the Y and its 20 years serving the community. There will be a bounce house, face painting, petting zoo, carnival games treats and much more. Admission is $5 per person, or $20 per family. Call for information at 437-9622.
