DERRY — It's time for local gardeners to make their arrangements for the holidays.
The Derry Garden Club hosted its annual greens workshop on Dec. 2 at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry.
Club members brought bags of all sorts of greens, florals, twigs, pine cones and other garden leftovers to be used in holiday decor and arrangements.
Every year, club members share their greens, berries and other gatherings from their autumn gardens and yards. The greenery is spread out in a large area on the club floor.
Members then select what they like and make a unique creation for the holidays.
The club has been a Derry fixture since it began in 1935, offering design workshops, garden therapy at area nursing homes, special events, flower shows and community beautification projects, including a children's garden project at the Robert Frost Farm, and other civic projects around Derry.
