Synagogue to show documentary film

DERRY — Etz Hayim Synagogue, 1 1/2 Hood Road, will present a documentary film "Body and Soul: the State of the Jewish Nation" on Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m.

The film is part of the synagogue's ongoing series of community presentations on contemporary Jewish issues. Following the film, producer and director Gloria Greenfield will lead a discussion examining the connections between Jewish people and Israel.

Derry church has Christian Coffee House

DERRY — Abundant Grace Church at 127 Rockingham Road, will host a Christian Coffee House Friday, May 29, at 7 p.m.

The event will feature Joey Voices with Christian and wholesome music, open mic sessions, clean comedy, free coffee and refreshments, and free raffle tickets.

Three free community meals planned 

DERRY — Elijah's Table is a joint project of Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration at 1 Hood Road and Etz Hayim Synagogue at 1 1/2 Hood Road. Twice a month, they provide free, family-friendly dinners, which are served in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Upcoming meals include: Thursday, May 21, dinner at West Running Brook Middle School, 1 W. Running Brook Lane, 5 to 6:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 24, dinner at Church of the Transfiguration, 5 to 6:30 p.m.; and Friday, May 29, spaghetti supper at First Parish Church, 47 E, Derry Road, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
