PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. — An investigation into a recent fatal motor crash claiming the life of a Derry man shows "nothing criminal," according to New York State Police.
Isaiah Byars, 25, of Derry, was killed April 13 when his 2018 Dodge Challenger entered the southbound lane "for unknown reasons" on State Route 9 in Philipstown, New York, while traveling northbound.
Byar's vehicle then struck a southbound 2015 Jeep Cherokee.
A police press release said the fatal, two-car motor vehicle crash claimed the life of Byars, who was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The operator of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital.
New York State Police Officer A.J. Hicks of Troop K, said although there was little new information other than what was in the initial press release, there was "nothing criminal found in the investigation."
