DERRY — It's the season in Derry for parades, holiday lights and plenty of community spirit.

The annual holiday parade kicked off Nov. 30 and filled Broadway and Crystal Avenue with floats, marching bands, young athletes, clowns and lot of seasonal music and treats to greet families and children lining the route.

Derry Village Rotarians collected food and money to support local food pantries and members of the Derry Police Department, along with McGruff the Crime Dog, collected toys for Toys for Tots.

After the parade, people remained in town to shop, enjoy more holiday activities and see the downtown tree light up once darkness fell.
