LONDONDERRY — It's almost time for those thinking of running for school or town office to sign up for the job.
Both the town and school district have open positions up for election prior to the March 12 voting day.
The filing period opens on Wednesday, Jan. 23 for those interested in signing up. Filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1.
Open town positions include two Town Council jobs for three-year terms. Councilors with terms expiring this year are John Farrell and Tom Dolan.
The Budget Committee has three open spots, two for three years and one positions for one year. The town treasurer job is also up for election in 2019 for a three-year term with Kathy Wagner currently holding the position.
There are openings for three Leach Library trustees, all for three-year terms. Trustees whose terms are up this year are Robert Collins, Pauline Caron and John Curran.
There is also one open position for Trustee of Trust Fund for three years.
On the school side, there is one school board position up for election this year for a three-year term with current board chairman Jenn Ganem's term expiring in 2019.
The school district clerk job for three years, school district moderator job for three years, and also a school district treasurer position for three years will all be decided at the March polls.
For those wishing to sign up for town positions, paperwork can be filed through the town clerk's office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For school district positions, call school district clerk Mary Wing Soares at the district office at 247-1679. Soares will also be in the office on Friday, Feb. 1 until 5 p.m. for last minute signups.
