LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry Police Department honored its own with awards and recognition for jobs well done in the community and region.

On Dec. 16, police hosted the annual award/recognition ceremony at the station on Mammoth Road with police Chief William Hart, Capt. Chris Gandia, Capt. Patrick Cheetham, Capt. Kim Bernard, Lt. Jason Teufel, and Sgt. Chris Olson presenting and recognizing the following employees for their service to the department

Recognition of retirees — Deputy Chief Paul Fulone and Officer Chuck Nickerson; recognition of new hires — Officer Tyler MacDonald, Officer Muzafer Aku, Officer Cameron Verrier, and Officer Anthony Marciano; recognition of K-9 Officer Rafael Ribeiro and Ammo, completing the Boston Canine Handler’s Academy.

Det. Christopher Olson was promoted to the rank of sergeant; Letter of Recognition for Life Saving honor went to Patrick Iarrobino; Letter of Recognition to Janet Stone; Military Service Bar given to Officer Cameron Verrier; the Arthur Kehas Bar awarded to Officer Anthony Marciano.

Letter of Commendations went to IT Specialist Thomas Roy, Officer Chris Wiggin, Officer Matt Laqurerre, Officer Randy Dyer, Officer Brian Allaire, Officer Timon Aikawa and Officer Jonathan Cruz.

Other awards included: Commendation Bar for Distinguished Unit Action (Buckingham) to Sgt. Dan Hurley, Officer Matt Morin, Officer Dan Perry, Officer Tim O’ Donaghue, TCO Maria Schacht; Commendation Bar for Meritorious Service to Officer Juan Lluberes; Commendation Bar for Lifesaving awarded to Officer Tara Koski; Commendation Bar for Distinguished Unit Action (Detectives) to Lt. Jason Breen, Sgt. Dan Hurley, Sgt. Ryan Buker, Sgt. Tim Moran, Det. Mike Tufo, Det. Jason Archambault, Det. Junior Garcia, and Det. Justin Hallock; Commendation Bar for Meritorious Service to Sgt. Dan Hurley, Sgt. Ryan Buker, Officer Tim O’Donaghue, Officer Rafael Ribeiro, Officer James Defelice, and TCO Cory Nader.

Commendation Bar for Life Saving honor went to Officer James Defelice; a Commendation Bar for Meritorious Service awarded to Sgt. Ryan Buker; a Commendation Bar for Distinguished Unit Action to Officer Matt Morin, Officer Andy Phillips, and Officer Cameron Verrier; the Commendation Bar for Chief’s Achievement given to legal assistant Sandee Mikutel and Officer Timon Aikawa.

The Civilian of the Year honor was presented to prosecutor Mike Malaguti and Officer of the Year honors went to Officer Matthew Morin.
