Library offers database videos
Leach Library offers information about its databases in a program available through the library's Facebook page. Donna Plante, head of the library's Reference and Technical Services, will show how to access each database and also will provide a summary of each database's contents in instructional videos. Craft time for kids
Leach Library offers a virtual craft time program beginning Monday, Jan. 11, 10 a.m. on the library's Facebook page. Make a fuzzy apple wreath. Craft kits are available while supplies last by calling the library at 603-432-1132.
Supervisors in session
The Supervisors of the Checklist are in session at the town clerk's office on the following dates to correct the checklist and register voters: Jan. 12 and Jan. 19, 7 to 7:30 p.m. To register to vote, one must bring proof of Londonderry residency, proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers), proof of age and photo ID. Qualified applicants without this information can sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications for identity, age, residence and citizenship.
Library hosts virtual program for teens
Leach Library hosts a virtual book talk with teens available on the library's Facebook page beginning Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. Miss Megan will chat about two new books in the young adult area of the library, "The Brave" by James Bird, and "Half Life" by Lillian Clark. Check the library's Facebook page on Jan. 19 for the link to the talk.
Children's program focuses on friendship
Leach Library hosts a virtual program for children about friendship fun. The program is available starting Monday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m. The program includes songs, crafts, stories and some favorite friendship picture books. To pick up a coloring page or to reserve any of the program's featured books, call the library at 603-432-1132. Check the library's Facebook page on Jan. 25 for the link to the program.
Free meals offered
The Derry Community Meals network offers free meals available for a safe pickup at churches in Derry and Londonderry. The upcoming schedule includes the following meals: Jan. 10, 2 to 2;30 p.m., lunch served; Jan. 16, St. Thomas Aquinas offers breakfast, 10 to 10:30 a.m.; Jan. 16, St. Luke's United Methodist Church, lunch served at noon; Jan. 29, First Parish Church offers dinner to go, 5 to 6 p.m.; Jan. 31, St. Jude's Parish offers a pickup lunch served 1:30 to 2 p.m.
The Sonshine Soup Kitchen on Crystal Avenue in Derry also serves free drive-by meals to go on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 to 5 p.m.
