Legion hosts meeting

The American Legion Post 27, 6 Sargent Road, hosts its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 12.

All members are welcome to attend. The Legion welcomes those with the proper membership requirements to stop by and learn about the organization.

Library hosts animal show

Leach Library hosts an animal show at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, at the library on Mammoth Road.

There will be some animals on hand to learn about.

Advance registration can be made by calling the library's Children's Room at 432-1127.

Seniors host ice cream social

Londonderry Seniors host an ice cream social from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Aug. 15, at the senior center, 535 Mammoth Road.

Cost is $5 per person and children under 3 are free. Proceeds go to support the senior center's programs.

Senior night set

As part of the annual Old Home Day schedule of events, The Senior Night Picnic is set for 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Lions Hall on Mammoth Road.

Bingo starts at 4 p.m. and the meal is at 5 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Londonderry Senior Center or at the town offices.

Concert series presents All Summer Long

The summer Concerts on the Common series features the band All Summer Long on Wednesday, Aug. 14, ay 7 p.m. on the Town Common.

The band is a Beach Boys cover band that has performed in Londonderry several times over the years. This year's concert is part of the 120th annual Old Home Day schedule of events.

Family friendly, Concerts on the Common are provided by the Londonderry Arts Council, whose mission is to enrich Londonderry’s quality of life by promoting cultural arts in the community and made possible by the generous support of sponsors.

In case of rain, the concert is moved indoors to the Matthew Thornton Elementary School gym.

Baby contest planned

The annual Old Home Day baby contest is once again taking place this year, on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m. at the Matthew Thornton Elementary School gym.

Babies will be judged on their cuteness and awards will be given. Contact oldbabycontest@outlook.com for registration details or register at the door on contest day.

Rotary hosts car show

The Londonderry Rotary Club, along with the Notheastern Chapter of the Pontiac Car Club, hosts a classic car show on Sunday, Aug. 18. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 25.

There will be many classic cars, trucks, sports cars and other vehicles on display.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and awards are given at 2 p.m. Vehicle entries are still being accepted by calling 432-1166 or emailing to scoop442@aol.com.

The public viewing entry fee is $3 for adults, $7 for family, and children under 12 are free.

Legion hosts golf event

American Legion Post 27 hosts a four-person scramble golf outing at Hidden Valley Campground in Derry.

Tee time-is 8 a.m. and cost is $65 per player. Sign up at post home, 6 Sargent Road. A cookout will be held following the golf event at the Londonderry post.

Supervisors in session

The Supervisors of the Voter Checklist will meet at the town clerk’s office to correct the checklist and register voters on Aug. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m.

To register to vote, one must provide proof of Londonderry residency, proof of citizenship (passport, birth certification, naturalization papers), proof of age, and a photo ID.

Qualified applicants who do not possess proof or who do not bring proof with them may register if they sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications for identity, age, domicile and citizenship.
