Tree sales underway
St. Mark's Council #10488 of the Knights of Columbus sells trees for the holiday season at Chuck's Londonderry BP station on Route 102, between Dunkin' Donuts and Crossroads Mall. More than 300 quality, New England-grown trees will be for sale this year, all sizes available.
The Knights will sell trees on Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. until all are gone. Proceeds go to support several charities and organizations supported by the Knights and St. Mark's Parish.
Santa makes a stop
Santa Claus will make a stop at the Londonderry Access Center on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. The Access Center is located at 281 Mammoth Road.
This is a free event and children can stop by to greet Santa and share their wish lists. There will be gifts and refreshments and parents will have opportunities to take photos of their children with Santa. Call for information at 603-432-1147.
Christmas on the Common set
The Londonderry Rotary Club, in partnership with the town and the board of Londonderry Square Professional Offices, has announced that the 30-year tradition of "Christmas on the Common" will be held this year on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Londonderry Square Plaza, the clock tower parking lot, 50 Nashua Road, at the north corner of the intersection of Route 102 and Gilcreast Road.
The afternoon will include many favorites including caroling by local scouts and other groups and a visit from Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their Elf, and holiday treats, hot cider, cocoa, chili and doughnuts. Due to the temporary location this year, there will be no tree lighting. The event returns to the Town Common in 2020.
AARP driver course set
The town once again sponsors the AARP Smart Driver course on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Londonderry Senior Center on Mammoth Road. Space is limited. Anyone 50-plus who is driving is urged to learn more. Schedule includes information on many areas of age-related driving issues. The course schedule includes a free lunch. Supervisors of Checklist session
The Supervisors of the Checklist meet at the Town Clerk’s office Jan. 3, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m. to correct the checklist and register voters.
To register, residents much provide proof of Londonderry residency, proof of United States citizenship (passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers), proof of age and photo identification.
Qualified applicants without the proper proof can register if they sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications. Call for information at 603-432-1100, ext. 198.
