Aviation Museum hosts railroad program
The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire on Navigator Road presents the program "A Railroad Ran Through It," featuring historian Rick Kfoury recounting the Boston and Maine's "Manchester and Lawrence" line, once forming the eastern boundary of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and soon to be the route of a new rail trail to the museum. Kfoury will also speak on his new book, "Queen City Rails," tracing the decline of the railroad in Manchester from the 1960s to the present.
Leach hosts fun and games
Leach Library hosts its Fun and Games program for young adult patrons on Thursday, Nov. 14, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participants in grades six through 12 can enjoy all kinds of games and activities. Participants are also encouraged their own games to play. There will be snacks and raffles. No registration required.
Hazardous waste day set for Nov. 23
Derry joins with Londonderry for the annual fall Household Hazardous Wast Day on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to noon at Nelson Fields in Londonderry.
Residents can bring materials from their home to dispose of safely, including oil based paints, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, degreasers, household cleaners, pool chemicals, old gasoline or antifreeze.

Supervisors of Checklist in session
The Supervisors of the Checklist meet at the town clerk's office on Jan. 3, 6 to 7 p.m. to correct the checklist and register voters. To register to vote, residents much provide proof of Londonderry residency, proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers), proof of age and photo identification. Qualified applicants without the proper proof can register if they sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications. Call for information at 432-1100, ext. 198.
