Supervisors of Checklist session
The Supervisors of the Checklist meet at the Town Clerk’s office Jan. 3, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m. to correct the checklist and register voters.
To register, residents much provide proof of Londonderry residency, proof of United States citizenship (passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers), proof of age and photo identification.
Qualified applicants without the proper proof can register if they sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications. Call for information at 603-432-1100, ext. 198.
Scouts host bonfire
The annual Christmas tree burn is set for Saturday, Jan. 4, hosted by Londonderry Boy Scout Troop 521 and held at Mack’s Apples near the farm stand on Mammoth Road. Scouts will collect trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and monetary donations are also welcome. At dusk the bonfire will begin and refreshments will be available. The event began more than 20 years ago as an Eagle Scout project. Trees will not be accepted before the official date and time. All are welcome to attend.
Library hosts wood art program
Leach Library welcomes Stephen Carey with a presentation “Wood Art for the Average Woodworker and Hobbyist” on Thursday, Jan. 9, 7 p.m. at the library on Mammoth Road.
Carey will offer information and tips on how to make unique wood art using average tools and supplies. He will have some of his work on display and explain the process. The program is sponsored by Friends of the Leach Library and is free and open to the public.
Filing period opens Jan. 22
Anyone wishing to sign up to run for open School Board positions can sign up beginning Jan. 22. The last day to file is Jan. 31.
There are two open positions, each for three years, up for election at the polls in March. To make arrangements to file, contact Mary Wing Soares, school district clerk at 603-247-1679. Soares will also be at the school district office on Friday, Jan. 31, 3 to 5 p.m. for final filing.
