Leadership Londonderry seeks applicants

The Leadership Londonderry seeks applicants for its next session to begin in September. The program is an informational training program that offers information and presentations every week through May, featuring town and school district presentations and other topics of community interest. The program is open to any Londonderry resident. Applications are available at londonderrynh.org and are due by June 28. 300th planning continues

The town continues its planning for the 300th anniversary of the original Nutfield settlement. Londonderry, along with Derry, Windham and the Derryfield portion of Manchester, have historical schedules in place with activities planned throughout the year. Londonderry will host an expanded Old Home Day schedule in August to help honor the 300th anniversary. Town Manager Kevin Smith said at a recent meeting that as part of Londonderry's historical planning, there will be several free history tours around town this summer. The bus tour will take people all around the community to point out historical sites. More details will follow on times and dates, Smith said.

Town clerk hours

The Londonderry Town Clerk's office announces updated hours beginning July 1. The office will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Summer concerts continue

The Londonderry Arts Council hosts the annual free summer Concerts on the Common series every Wednesday, 7 p.m. on the Common. In case of bad weather, concerts are moved indoors to a nearby school. There is no concert on Wednesday, July 3.

Rotary hosts blood drive

The Londonderry Rotary Club, in partnership with the American Red Cross, hosts a blood drive on Tuesday, July 23, 2 to 7 p.m. at a new location, the Londonderry Senior Center, 535 Mammoth Road. Last year's one-day drive netted 130 pints of blood and Rotarians hope to exceed that amount this year. No appointment is necessary for anyone wishing to donate, but if appointments are requested, call the Red Cross at 603-370-8568.

Summer media camp planned

The annual summer media camp is set for July 15-26, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Londonderry Access Center cable studio. The camp is open to students entering fifth through eighth grade in the fall of 2019. Students will learn aspects of video production, will learn to produce a show, and learn about cameras and editing. Call to reserve a camp spot at 603-432-1100, ext. 185.

Senior Center offers yoga

The Londonderry Senior Center offers yoga classes led by Barbara Scott and Lisa Kress. Classes take place at the senior center, 535 Mammoth Road and are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 to 10 a.m. For information call the senior center at 603-432-8554.

Scavenger hunt set

Leach Library hosts a weekend scavenger hunt on June 29. Children will be sent around the library to find different pieces of information. Return the completed scavenger hunt card to the Children’s Room and receive a raffle ticket to win prizes.

Supervisors in session

The Supervisors of the Voter Checklist will meet at the town clerk’s office to correct the checklist and register voters on Aug. 21, 6 to 7 p.m. To register to vote, one must provide proof of Londonderry residency, proof of citizenship (passport, birth certification, naturalization papers), proof of age, photo ID. Qualified applicants who do not possess proof or who do not bring proof with them may register if they sign an affidavit attesting to their qualifications for identity, age, domicile and citizenship.
