LONDONDERRY — A popular holiday tradition has found a temporary home this year.

Due to the recent Town Common drainage/construction project and subsequent re-seeding of the land, the annual "Christmas on the Common" event held on the Common every year had to find a new home.

The Londonderry Rotary Club, in partnership with the town and the board of Londonderry Square Professional Offices, has announced that the 30-year tradition of "Christmas on the Common" will be held this year on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Londonderry Square Plaza, the clock tower parking lot, 50 Nashua Road, at the north corner of the intersection of Route 102 and Gilcreast Road.

The afternoon will include many favorites including caroling by local Scouts and other groups and a visit from Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their Elf, and holiday treats, hot cider, cocoa, chili and doughnuts.

Due to the temporary location this year, there will be no tree lighting. The event will return to the Town Common in 2020.
