Dave Kelly has been chosen to receive the 2007 Robert W. Lincoln Youth Service Award.

For the past two decades Dave Kelly has dedicated himself to the youths of Londonderry, according to the selection committee chaired by Art Psaledas.

"Dave (Kelly) has been a driving force of youth soccer programs," Psaledas said. "He has also spearheaded field construction and presently serves as president of Londonderry United Travel Soccer Club."

Kelly also has coached teams, assisted the soccer program at Londonderry High School and organized and run the Londonderry Labor Day Soccer Tournament. Through his fundraising efforts, many donations have been made to both the school district and recreation facilities.

The award is named after Bob Lincoln, who has been active in a variety of organizations in Londonderry. He served on the School Board for more than 20 years, the Budget Committee, and chaired various building committees including the high school, North School Addition and Matthew Thornton. And he is an active member of the Londonderry Lions Club. Lincoln also has been the chair of the Londonderry Fields Task force for the past 25 years.

Lincoln is a behind-the-scenes worker who each summer for the past 20 years has taken two weeks vacation from his job and has worked 60-plus hours each week on the athletic fields in Londonderry.

Past recipients of the Lincoln Award are Kay Doyle, Terri Roucheleau and Scott Hale.

The award will be presented to Kelly at the Londonderry High School spring pep rally on Friday, May 4 at 12:38 p.m. in the Londonderry High School Gymnasium.
