DERRY — One police officer was taken to the hospital yesterday morning after crashing his cruiser into another police vehicle on Route 28 Bypass.

The two officers were traveling north to serve an arrest warrant on Route 28 Bypass near Mirra Road at 10:17 a.m. when one officer spotted a speeding vehicle traveling south, according to police.

The collision occurred when that officer reversed direction to stop the speeding vehicle, according to police, and the cruisers collided.

One police officer was transported to Parkland Medical Center for minor injuries, but police declined to release his name.

Both cars were towed from the scene.

The Derry Police are investigating the crash.
