DERRY — Conservation Commission officials got an early look at a development plan for a parcel off Folsom Road.

At a meeting Sept. 23, the commission heard from civil engineer Brian Pratt with Fuss and O'Neill, presenting information on a development plan that would bring a multi-building project to property at 14 Folsom Road.

Pratt said the property is about 3.5 acres and has frontage on Folsom, not far from the current Salvation Army property and across from Claremont Avenue.

Pratt told commission member the proposed plan would involve building eight structures on the site, each 3,600 square feet in size.

Uses for the buildings would include a mix of business, medical and other professional office uses.

Pratt said bringing this type of use to this part of Derry would serve the community well.

"People are excited to have some commercial development (brought) into this area," he said.

Since this plan is early in the process, Pratt said there would be permitting needed from the state and plan changes are possible once all input from town boards are considered.

The conservation group will plan a site walk of the property.
