Smash Music welcomes woodwind quintet

DERRY — Smash Music in downtown Derry welcomes the Granite State Woodwind Quintet to its Smash Live Series of Friday night concerts on Nov. 2.

This series presents a wide range of entertaining performances in an intimate space adjacent to the store. It aims to introduce a variety of musical styles to music lovers of all ages and musical experience.

The informal concert, titled “Smash-ical Classical” begins at 8 p.m. at Smash Music, 25 East Broadway.

Free parking is available on the street and behind the store. Tickets can be purchased in advance at yoursmashmusic.com/liveseries or at the door.

This is the first appearance by a classical group in the Smash Live Series. Since forming in 2005, the Granite State Woodwind Quintet has been on a musical journey, exploring and interpreting this rich musical heritage with members Donna Park (oboe), Brad Morse (bassoon), Tara Rousselle (French horn), Barbara Naber (clarinet), and David Howard (flute) perform in various amateur and professional groups in southern New Hampshire.

The program includes light classical and humorous selections including "Danny Boy," "The Pink Panther," "In the the Hall of the Mountain King," and "The Old Grumbler."
