DERRY — The Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus (RNH) presents "My Big, Fat Monster Wedding" at the Derry Opera House.
The show is Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 and 7 p.m. and features monsters, witches and a host of ghouls attend the renewal of vows for Frankenstein and his lovely bride.
“Continuing in our musical theater tradition, RNH is putting on its sixth original production wrapped around some amazing a cappella and barbershop singing,” said Jessie Caynon, chorus musical director. “This isn’t a scary story, but one of our funniest and craziest productions that is appropriate for all ages."
Caynon encourages adult guests and little monsters and ghouls to dress up in their favorite non-gory Halloween attire and join the wedding party guest list.
“We want this production to be an audience-participation opportunity,” said Renee Fellows, assistant director for RNH and show director. “We are all about entertaining our audiences and having them embrace our shows fully. If guests want to dress up as their favorite fun-loving monster, go ahead. The more the merrier!”
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors and are on sale now by calling 800-696-7351 or visiting the web site at rnhchorus.org.
The Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, joining over 21,000 women from 13 countries who share a love of music and singing four-part barbershop harmony in English.
The chorus holds weekly rehearsals on Thursday nights at 6:45 p.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway. The group welcomes new members on a rolling basis.
