LONDONDERRY — Young dancers from Londonderry will join other dancers on stage for the Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater performances of the holiday classic "The Nutcracker" set to take the stage at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, Friday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Dec. 1.
April Mauceri, 17, attends Londonderry High School and will dance the roles of the Snow Queen and Dew Drop Fairy in the upcoming performances. She will also dance the role of Mirliton Soloists, a Snowflake in the Snow Scene and also as a flower in the Waltz of the Flowers.
“It’s my favorite holiday tradition and definitely the most fun production to be a part of,” April said.
She will be joined on stage by 14-year old Aika Chen performing the roles of Doll, Chinese Soloist, Mirliton Dancer, a Snowflake and a Flower.
Seventeen-year old Gabriel Romanauskas will perform in the Arabian Ensemble and as a Mouse along with his brother Rowan, 15, performing as a Mouse and Arabian Dancer and their 9-year old sister Annika performing as a Polichinelle.
Other Londonderry performers include Hannah Newman-Williams, 13, performing the roles of Elf, Party Girl, Chinese Ensemble and a Candy Cane; Lily Ferreira, 11, as a Young Party Girl and Angel; Seira Chen, 9, as a Baby Mouse and Polichinelle and Owen Ferreira as a Party Boy.
"The Nutcracker" will also include a live orchestra led by world-renown conductor John Williams.
