DERRY — Downtown business owners were ready to greet families and children last Saturday although Mother Nature had other plans in mind for the day’s weather.
The annual downtown trick-or-treat event still brought out the devoted, braving the elements to enjoy some spooky fun, starting with a costume parade at Veterans Hall on West Broadway.
Local participating businesses also dressed to thrill with many taking on fun costumes to greet children with candy and treats.
Staff at the Grind Rail Trail Cafe donned a complete look as they honored Alice in Wonderland with a special tea party. Other colorful characters were also spotted on Broadway. Derry firefighters also set up a spot to greet families and pass out treats.
