DERRY — Derry Public Library is seeking the next great poem.
The second annual MacGregor Poetry Contest is now underway and the library is looking for poets to send in their work to be judged.
Last year, the contest drew nearly 200 entries. There is a $250 cash prize for the winning poem, provided by the Robert Frost Farm Trustees.
Judges include Derry Poet Laureate Robert Crawford, and library staff members.
Contest entry guidelines including: submit up to two poems, no more than two pages each. There are no restrictions on form or subject.
No names on poems, please, as all entries are judged anonymously. Also, do not send poem via Google docs. Submissions are accepted until March 15. Entries will be returned and contest results will be announced in April. Winners will be contacted via email or phone.
