Student named to flying program
AUBURN — Pinkerton Academy Air Force Junior ROTC cadet Sarah DeVito was selected for the Order of the Daedalians Flying Training, or DFT, training program. The DFT is a challenging, concentrated instructional curriculum with a sole objective of encouraging selected ROTC cadets to pursue a career as a military aviator. The program consists of closely supervised individual and group study activities in preparation for airborne instructional sorties leading to a successful solo flight in general aviation aircraft. DeVito was one of only three cadets out of 10 units in the state selected for the program. She is currently in her junior year at Pinkerton and plans to become a pilot. She is from Auburn.
