Derry student earns honor

DERRY — South Range Elementary School fifth grade student Timothy Dineen was recognized at the Champion Youth Award Luncheon in Concord on Nov. 26.

The New Hampshire Council for Youth with Chronic Conditions (NHCYCC) sought nominations of young people who have chronic health conditions, and are inspiring with their dogged resilience, cheerful optimism and determination. Timothy was nominated for this award by the staff at South Range Elementary School.

Despite his physical disability,Timothy is aptly described by his school community as a boy who thinks and acts beyond any limitations. He is always happy and maintains such a positive attitude, and he cares about others, according to the nomination information and is the epitome of perseverance and an inspiration to those who know him.

Timothy's parents, Tim and Kristen, along with his three siblings, South Range school nurse Sue Linehan and South Range Assistant Principal Michelle Cremone attended the ceremony to honor Timothy and the other recipients of awards.

Barka names Students of Week
