DERRY — The Derry Police Department hosts a blood drive Wednesday, June 9, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road in Derry.
Derry police host blood drives every year to help replenish the blood supply, especially when the need for donations is great.
“There is no greater commitment to serve others that we can make as individuals in our community, than donating blood to the Red Cross,” said Derry police Chief Edward Garone. “With the hope that a life will be saved. I encourage all community members to participate in our June 9 blood drive.”
As more people schedule their vaccination appointments and begin to gear up for a return to some of their favorite summer activities, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood and make it a summer full of life for patients in need.
The need for lifesaving blood transfusions never takes a break. It’s critical to have blood ready to go when every second counts.
All presenting blood donors at this drive will receive a Red Cross T-shirt while supplies last.
