DERRY — The season is warming up and it's almost time for Derry's Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market to return to the downtown.

The market officially opens for its third season on Wednesday, June 5 and is held weekly on Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m. at 1 West Broadway, through September.

The market was honored with an Editor's Choice Award by Yankee Magazine for being a top farmer's market in the state.

"We've added a number of great new vendors for the upcoming season including New England Fish Mongers, new farms, a second artisan bakery and a few others," said market organizing committee member Neil Wetherbee. "Of course, there will be plenty of familiar faces as well as 20 of last year's vendors returning for what will be the third season for many."

That includes Abbot Hill Creamery, Debbie D's, Victory Aquaponics, and Valicenti Pasta to name a few, selling pickles, oils, jams, cheese, natural soaps, chocolates, fresh produce, sauces, wine, beer, meats and pastries

Market patrons can expect to be able to purchase ingredients for a complete meal, and be able to buy some grab-and-go foods as well.

Along with shopping for fresh, homegrown foods and products, market visitors can also enjoy live music, children's activities, and artist demonstrations.

Opening day festivities will feature music by Mike Morris and his family band Silly Solutions balloon art and colored pencil artist Tina Gagnon demonstrating her talents in the Artist Spotlight Tent.
