Water main work begins

The town of Derry plans to replace the existing water main on Maple Street from West Broadway to Elm Street and Tracy Drive from Beacon Hill Road to the cul-de-sac. This work will be performed by Joseph P. Cardillo & Son, Inc. They will be mobilizing material and equipment and will be accessing individual properties to connect a temporary water system, which will be used throughout the project.

Crews will need access to review sill cocks and existing plumbing configurations to evaluate if any plumbing modifications are required for connection to the temporary water system. Any temporary plumbing changes will be at the town contractor’s expense.

This process may impose a minor delay upon entering and exiting the roadway and individual properties, but the road will not be closed to residents. On street parking will not be allowed during construction activity which is typically 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Department of Public Works will make an effort to minimize any inconvenience to residents.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Public Works Office at 603-432-6144.
