Kids Coop presents 'Wizard of Oz'
Students actors in Kids Coop Theatre present "The Wizard of Oz" on Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. and again Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 and 7 p.m. at the Derry Opera House, 29 West Broadway.

Affordable Care Act program offered
Derry Public Library offers another program in its ongoing series to assist residents with understanding and enrolling in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
The next session is Monday, Nov. 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the library.
Katie Mae Stewart, certified navigator from Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, will lead a brief informational session and enrollment fair.
Anyone attending should bring a Social Security number, pay stubs and/or W2 forms, and a 2013 1040 document.

Bully prevention workshop planned
A free workshop will feature a leading expert on bullying prevention, part of a community effort to address the problem.
The Derry Bully Prevention Project, with the support of The Upper Room, a Family Resource Center, presents a free workshop featuring nationally recognized bullying expert Dr. Malcolm Smith.
The workshop will be held Nov. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at The Upper Room, 36 Tsienneto Road.
Smith will speak on "Teaching Civility — A Social Cue for Bullying."
He helped author the 2010 anti-bullying law signed by then Gov. John Lynch and will address what he call's today's "meanness epidemic."
Prior to the workshop, Smith will meet with sixth- and seventh-graders in the Derry school district. Information packets will be distributed to local youth organizations, coaches and parents.
The Derry Bully Prevention Project was formed in 2013 to help educate and increase awareness on the impact bullying has. The project started in partnership with The Upper Room and received grant funding from the Alexander Eastman Foundation.
Masons accepting holiday donations
St. Mark's Lodge 44 Free and Accepted Masons are collecting holiday donations of nonperishable food items, clothing and items for the Toys for Tots drive.
Collection hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 58 East Broadway. Food collected will support the First Baptist Church food pantry and will be distributed by Nov. 20.
Clothing will also go to the First Baptist Church and the Marion Gerrish Community Center. Toys for Tots items will be distributed through the Marine Corps Reserve Center by Dec. 20. Visit the Masons at stmarkslodge.org.
Free Thanksgiving dinner planned
Derry's free community meals network will hold a free Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 27, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Road.
All are welcome to attend. Volunteers are also welcome to come help serve the meal
The meal will include turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, rolls, beverages and dessert.
