Coat drive underway

RE/MAX Innovative Properties and the Pinkerton Academy Interact Club host a coat drive to support the Derry Cooperative School district. Donate a new coat or jacket to support local students in the school district. Sizes needed are 2 through adult XL. Drop off donations through Nov. 14 at Derry Public Library, 64 East Broadway; Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway, and at RE/MAX Innovative Properties, 63 Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. Be a part of pandemic history

Derry Public Library is hosting a special project, asking people to submit letters, art, videos, et cetera, about pandemic experiences.

"The Pandemic Diaries" is a joint effort between the library, Derry Museum of History, Derry Community Access Media and the community's citizens. Materials will be collected and stored in the library's New Hampshire Room for future generations. Materials can be submitted online, by mail or in person. All ages and voices are welcome. Free community meals

Derry Community Meals offers free meals to go at area churches. The upcoming schedule is as follows: Nov. 21, breakfast, 8 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas, Derry; Nov. 21, lunch served at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Derry, noon to 12:30 p.m.; Nov. 22, St. Jude's Parish in Londonderry serves lunch, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., and Nov. 27, drive up dinner served at First Parish Church in East Derry, 5 to 6 p.m.

Sonshine Soup Kitchen also serves meals to go on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4:30 to 5 p.m. Anyone needing food can call 603-437-2833, ext. 1 and leave a message and someone will return the call to help set up an appointment.

Unique holiday parade planned

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce hosts the 34th annual Derry holiday parade Saturday, Nov. 28, 1 p.m. at Pinkerton Academy. With the theme "Unsung Heroes," this year's event will be a stationary plan, where participants will be parked and spectators will drive by to view the floats, bands, and other participants.
