CARL RUSSO PHOTOS: The Derry Police Department held their Recognition Ceremony on Friday, January 3rd. at the Derry Municipal Center. Dozens of family members, friends and fellow police officers attended and participated in the ceremony.

Derry police chief, Edward Garone presided over the ceremony with introductions and promotions for three officers. Lt. Shawn O'Donaghue, Sgt. Jared Knox and Sgt. Patrick Dawson were sworn in and presented their new badges. The chief then introduced and sworn in new officers, Melissa Houde, Thomas Lyons, Casey Noyes, Brendan Holden and Kristina Banahan.

The chief also honored two recently retired officers, Lt. Daniel Beattie who served 23 years with the Derry police dept. and officer Jeff Pike, a 19 year veteran with Derry police dept.
