Windham Academy announces new hires

WINDHAM — Windham Academy has announced the names of four staff members as the new charter school prepares to open for the 2018–2019 school year.

Shana Olszewski has been selected as the first of two kindergarten teachers. Patty Miloro will head the curriculum for the first grade at the Academy. She brings with her over 20 years of teaching experience and currently teaches students at the NEXT Charter School in Derry. For the second grade, Shannon Stevens will take a teaching position at the school. Hired for third grade is Tara McLaughlin.

Windham Academy Director Mindy Labo said the new staff bring a lot of experience and energy to the team.

“I am so excited for our first school year and feel blessed that so many talented individuals wanted to join our team. I know that together we’re going to make a real difference in the lives of our students.”

Alumni honored on special day

DERRY — Pinkerton Academy's Alumni Association hosts its Biennial Alumni Day Saturday, June 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the senior cafe in the school’s Spaulding Center.

The longtime tradition joins alumni from all graduating classes for a luncheon and celebration. Prior to the meal, the Alumni Association hosts its annual business meeting.

"The Alumni Association welcomes you to attend Biennial Alumni Day," said Anne Massa, alumni director at Pinkerton. "One of Pinkerton's oldest traditions, this multi-class reunion is a great place for alumni of all ages to connect and reminisce about their alma mater. We will be offering tours of the campus, along with a historical presentation and music from our jazz ensemble."
