LHS teacher honored with service award
LONDONDERRY — Steve Juster, an English teacher at Londonderry High, was honored with the annual Robert W. Lincoln Youth Service Award for 2018.
Juster was honored April 20 during a high school spring pep rally.
The award is named for Bob Lincoln, a longtime volunteer who served on many town boards and committees. Lincoln also served on the School Board for 20 years, served as chairman of many committees and was an active Londonderry Lions Club member. He died in 2015.
Juster is being honored for his countless acts of service to the school and community, including the annual "Day of Giving" rally where hundreds of students, teachers, and community members have cut hair to provide wigs for cancer patients through the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program.
That program has been held for many years at the school. Juster is also active with youth recreation programs as a coach.
The Lincoln award selection committee chooses a recipient for the award every year, naming someone that demonstrates the characteristics of leadership, volunteerism, and devotion to the town, especially youth.
Past recipients of the Robert W. Lincoln Youth Service Award include Kay Doyle, Terri Roucheleau, Scott Hale, Mary Theos, Dave Kelly, Ron Campo, John Reynolds, Bob Slater, Gary Fisher, Kevin Foley, Bob Saur, Rick Brothers, and Owen Walton.
