Richard Poussard of Hampstead sets down his Mikado Logo, the model helicopter he has just used in a 3D flying show for the crowd of spectators at the 2012 N.H. Radio Control Aircraft Fly-In, hosted by the NH Flying Tigers in Derry. This year's event is Aug. 17 and 18.

DERRY — The fifth annual New England RC Airplane Fly-In event is set for Aug. 17-18.

The event was rescheduled from June due to inclement weather.

The air show is held at the N.H. Flying Tigers air field on B Street. It will feature a variety of aircraft, including helicopters, gliders, aerobatic planes and scale models.

Members of the public can try their hand at flying a radio control airplane and see many experts in action.

Fly-ins run each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday’s schedule includes fixed-wing aircraft and Sunday’s lineup focuses on helicopters.

There will be aircraft on display along with food and raffles.

The Fly-in supports the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry and spectators are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate for admission.

Experts from area flying clubs will be on hand to answer any questions and offer information on the latest technology in radio control aircraft.
