DERRY — Derry Public Library continued its summer reading program with a special program on ancient Egyptians last week.

Children learned about Egyptian life and studied jewelry, clothing, wigs, and the process of mummification from Paulette Morin, an amateur Egyptologist.

The reading program ends with a summer celebration on Aug. 8 and the Super Summer Reader Party on Aug. 9.

The party on Aug. 8 is for all children.

It will start with a performance by Lindsey and her Puppet Pals at 1:30 p.m., followed by an ice cream social (ice cream donated by Moo’s) with crafts, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and Wii games.
