Antique cars head to Birch Heights
Birch Heights retirement community at 7 Kendall Pond Road will host its second annual Antique/Classic Car show and old-fashioned barbecue on June 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.
A 50/50 raffle will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry.
Last year, more than 20 cars rolled into Birch Heights. This year, more are expected to participate.
Birch Heights invites the community to enjoy the car show and a barbecue featuring hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream.
There also will be clowns, face-painting and a performance by Stan Jr. for Elvis lovers. There is no cost for admission.

Senior ballroom dance program offered
The Derry Parks and Recreation Department is introducing a new program, Senior Citizen Ballroom Dancing. All residents and nonresidents are invited to participate in this program.
The program is held on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon. An instructional class will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. and will include structured instruction in ballroom dancing by Shelly Thompson. From 11 a.m. to noon, there will be open practice time for people of all ballroom dancing skill levels. Bring a partner with you or pair up with another person upon arrival.
The drop-in fee for Derry residents is $3 per person, $5 for nonresidents, regardless of arrival time. Class and practice time will be held at the gym in Veterans Memorial Hall.
