DERRY, N.H. — Marlon S. DeRusha, 78, husband of Irene M. (Dodier) DeRusha, and formerly of Plaistow, N.H., died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Salemhaven in Salem, N.H.
Born in Haverhill on July 27, 1931, Mr. DeRusha was the son of the late Gordon C. and Norma E. (Sanborn) DeRusha.
Mr. DeRusha worked as a truck driver for 38 years for various trucking firms including Haverhill & Lawrence Transportation before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Teamster Local 437, and the Walnut Square Association. He enjoyed collecting coins and guns, and had gone on many hunting trips with family and friends.
Beside his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Dennis F. Dodier and his wife Susan of Wilmington, Craig M. DeRusha and his wife Debbie of Oregon City, Or., Lisa A. DeRusha of Derry, N.H., Calvin D. DeRusha of Ossipee, N.H., Kevin M. DeRusha and his wife Gloria of Hampstead, N.H.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Diane Baker and her husband Billy of Bradford, Erma Cambria and her husband Patsy of Laguna Woods, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends are invited to the funeral Thursday, at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. Interment at Maplewood North Parish Cemetery will be private.
